WANTED: PHP Developer

We’re looking for a  passionate and talented PHP/MySQL developer to work on a wide range of projects. Working with other developers, you’ll be initially responsible for assisting with the development of new sites by applying finishing touches, cross browser testing, adding extra features, and content layout.

The majority of the role is based around the ecommerce platform, Magento which you would grow to become more familiar with.  Initially you would be making css changes and then progressing to more Magneto specific tasks at a steady but realistic pace.  We would also need you to be able to work with other platforms (such a WordPress) in the same capacity as Magento, with style/alignment tasks.

If you’re talented, passionate, been around for longer than 3 years, and have an insane attention to detail then we’d love to hear from you. Aside from being an awesome developer, you will need to:

  • Create technical specifications
  • Provide timescales and propose solutions
  • Work to a standard only the Queen’s most trusted staff would be proud of
  • Work to a detailed specification
  • Equally, use your initiative to solve a problem and achieve a goal
  • Spot an out of place pixel from 300ft
  • Test your work thoroughly
  • Fix any bugs
  • Assist the rest of the team with custom development

You will also be familiar with the full software development life-cycle and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be able to work from beginning to end of a project and see a project through from concept to launch. You’ll love the challenge of working on lots of different projects and be process driven.

Technical skills:

  • PHP5 (Object Oriented/MVC)
  • MySQL
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript/JQuery, XML
  • Linux and Apache knowledge would be beneficial
  • Experience using development frameworks such as Zend, CodeIgniter or CakePHP.
  • High quality written and clear communication skills

 

Additionally, we’d love it if you had the following (but we can live without it):

  • Magento
  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Experience working in an agency environment
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • Experience using Photoshop or Illustrator
