Magento eCommerce platforms have been officially crowned as the fastest growing and most widely used of all the available platforms throughout Europe.
It was Magento Commerce who broke the news themselves after confirming that they currently have 53 clients on their Internet Retailer’s list who are inside Europe’s 500 biggest eCommerce companies, meaning that they have exceeded any other provider.
Magento released a recent press release, asserting its eCommerce software leads the European market in terms of commerce platforms and with the fact that there are 53 of the 500 on board, the solutions business stated: “That’s more than any other provider and more than double Demandware’s 26 and SAP Hybris’ 24 clients.”
Further good news came from Magento this month after it confirmed that just under a third (31%) of mid-to-large companies opt to run Magento and that their specialist software runs in excess of a quarter of all eCommerce sites in the Alexa top 1 million sites list.
As far as Europe-based customers are concerned, Dyson, Missguided, Frankfurt Airport, Orsay, Lafuma, Poundland, and La Halle all feature.
Magento’s CEO Mark Lavelle said of their customer base: “Our European customers are out-innovating their competitors in mobile, unique shopping experiences, and new digital commerce business models.”
Some claim that the prevalence of Magento in Europe and its successful growth rate is down to the unveiling of Magento 2. Following the release of the updated software model seven months ago, Magento 2 has been downloaded more than 350,000 times and there are currently 2,400 live sites running on Magento 2 on a global scale.
