Search Engine Optimisation

If you’re not on Google,
who’s going to find you?

Almost all of your visitors and potential customers will come from a search engine. If you’re not on the first 2 pages you probably won’t be found.

A good Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) campaign will determine whether you sink or swim.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO from now on) is the process of optimising your website to move up the search engine rankings for your chosen keywords. Generally speaking, around 80% of your website visitors will come from a search engine and of those, 65% will click on the organic results rather than adverts.

Every so often Google will index and rank your website based on your content and whether other related websites link to you. The Google search results are based on how relevant they are to the search term. Imagine for a second that you sell cotton towels. If your website isn’t optimised for the keyword ‘cotton towels’ and there are no ‘cotton towel’ related websites that link to you, you won’t rank highly. It’s that simple.

Our SEO campaigns are tailored to each individual website and the keyword areas you want to focus on. For example, if you’re a local business your campaign will include a Google Places listing with location specific keywords (“plumber in bournemouth” for example). A typical SEO campaign will consist of the following key areas:

Keyword research – choose the right keywords which have the search volume and conversion rates.
Optimising content – making sure your existing content is optimised.
Creating new content – keep Google interested with regular new optimised and relevant content.
Link building – generate high-ranking and relevant links from other websites.
Social media – create your online social profile with regular social activity.

All our websites are SEO friendly which means the code is optimised and the tools exist to ensure you can create a successful SEO campaign. Whether you’re using the ecommerce platform, Magento, or the CMS framework, WordPress, you’re in safe hands. Read more about Magento SEO and WordPress SEO.

SEO is not a one-off job which you can do once and leave. Your competitors are all doing this on a continued basis so you need to compete with an ongoing campaign. Given the nature of SEO, it can take up to 6 months to see any significant benefit from the SEO work, however, we tend to start seeing results after 2 months.
