Fight Equipment UK, a longstanding client of Media Lounge, is a specialised retailer in combat sports equipment. They offer products for boxing, MMA, BJJ, and other disciplines, for both enthusiasts and professionals. With an ambition to enhance their store's online presence and performance, particularly on mobile devices, they approached us for a seamless migration to Shopify.
The mission was to transition Fight Equipment UK from Magento 2 to Shopify Plus, focusing on maintaining the existing site's features while enhancing mobile usability, product page design, and simplifying the checkout process. Key objectives included a seamless migration, enhanced mobile experience, and localised storefronts for the French and German markets.
The project started with adapting the Shopify theme to resemble the Magento store. We refined the product page and made the checkout process more efficient. We integrated multiple Shopify native apps to enhance functionality and significantly reduce ongoing costs by minimising dependency on external development and app fees. Through staged data migrations and extensive testing, we facilitated a smooth transition for Fight Equipment UK, moving towards a more self-sufficient and cost-effective eCommerce store.
