Given the rate at which the eCommerce industry, not just Magento agency business continues to evolve, and as a result become more mature, there are visible benefits for those involved in the sector, experts have declared.
Within the eCommerce industry, annual salaries in the UK have risen by over 10,900 pounds in 2015 and in 2016, over the last four months it grew in excess of 2,330 pounds.
Cranberry Panda, an eCommerce and digital marketing recruitment agency based in London have revealed the results in their annual eCommerce salary survey, with more than 550 people currently active in the British eCommerce industry taking part in the survey. The survey cites that 60.9 per cent are expecting their salaries to see gains by the end of 2016. Furthermore, fewer than one per cent stated that they believed their pay would decrease in the coming eight months to the end of the year.
There was more insightful news to come from the survey which found that men hold more senior positions than women. On the other hand, Cranberry Panda said: “However, for the last two years, more young women have been entering the eCommerce sector than men”. Additionally, it was said that women seem to be more likely to hold junior or middle management roles, whereas men lead the lion’s share of senior roles.
The agency added: “Given that more young women than men are now entering the sector, it will be interesting to see how our eCommerce breakdown by gender will look in 5 to 10 years’ time.”
Lastly, Cranberry Panda consulted their participants on which skills they would most like to develop this year. Technical and advanced level skills topped the list, with a strong focus on SEO, analytics, and coding, all featuring on the list of skills most desired.
