If you’re using social media platforms to increase Magento sales, then you might want to think about the best times of day to push your eCommerce content to give it the best chance of reaching your customers and having an impact on their purchasing decisions.

Here are some accepted guidelines that should help you make the most of using social media for improving your eCommerce.

• Facebook posts are mostly checked around lunchtimes and after working hours. Saturdays are generally the best days to get people reading your links and responding.

• Twitter is at its busiest around 6pm so save that moment for your most important eCommerce tweets. Wednesdays and weekends tend to be the best days for Twitter, and if you can spread your Magento store posts throughout the day rather than sending all in one go, so much the better.

• For bloggers, remember the gender divide – women tend to read in the morning, whereas men are more likely to read after work. The highest blog traffic happens around 11am on a Monday morning, so it’s worth posting either early in the morning or after hours. Saturdays are when most blog comments are posted.

• If you’re using email campaigns for your Magento eCommerce, you’ll probably get the best response when people are home from work and have time to consider what they’re reading. So it’s best to post between 7 and 10pm in the evening. An exception is first thing in the morning when people are keen to delay the start of work. So you might find that sending first thing gets a good response.

With all these guidelines, it’s worth remembering that your particular Magento business will have its own specific parameters. Find out what works for you, and if necessary break the rules. Your eCommerce demographic might respond in ways that defy the ‘common-sense’ statistics.
