Here at Media Lounge we love working with people who have as much passion and enthusiasm for their business as we do for creating great eCommerce websites and Highstreet Outlet oozed exactly that from the moment they approached our team. The guys at Highstreet Outlet, a fashion brand that houses discounted prices of top high street stores, came to us in 2017 with one key aim in mind – to build a brand new website that will aid onsite sales figures.
Our response? To create a user-friendly environment which allows visitors to easily navigate through the large range of stock that Highstreet Outlet has to offer.
The newly designed site is both beautiful and practical. The main focus of the user journey is given to the vast product range with the aim of optimising site wide click-through rates whilst allowing the stunning product imagery to take centre stage. The new store also takes advantage of the Magento 2 platform, offering an intuitive and simple administration panel for the business as well as some fantastic features for their customers too…
As with all Media Lounge design projects, the homepage was created with the target audience at the forefront of the designer’s mind. From our data analysis of the previous site, customers popularly shopped via the New Arrivals and Best Sellers image blocks. By implementing a graphical grid as the framework of the homepage, the new site is able to display image blocks of New Arrivals, Best Sellers and current stock to the customers at one glance.
Additionally, the site has the nifty Nosto feature fully integrated. Nosto is a personalised shopping experience for site visitors and works by showing tailored products on the homepage, category and basket pages to different customers based on their previous shopping habits on the store. Other improved user experience integrations on the site include Dotmailer, Feefo Reviews, Braintree and Paypal Express payment methods.
With such a large array of stock available, creating an easy-to-use site navigation was essential. Our team worked hard to design a simple top menu bar that links to all available categories and subcategories across the site without complicating or cluttering the homepage. This has made browsing products smooth and effortless.
Of course, one of the key features implemented on all our new site launches that aim to improve conversion and user experience is the streamlined one step checkout process. The very simplistic one-page design was developed in partnership with the OneStepCheckout team and allows complete transparency across the checkout process. The one-page feature eliminates any previous barriers to purchase such as multiple pages reload, helping to minimise cart abandonment rates.
Highstreet Outlet is striving to be the ‘go to’ place to buy high street fashion brands at a lower cost on the web and we are happy that we could contribute to making this happen for them.
